Hypnosis and Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning, Super Moon and a Nutritional Detox

Spring Cleaning

Welcome!  So what does hypnosis have to do with Spring Cleaning?

You probably already know the answer to this question.  It’s always beneficial to do some Spring Cleaning within your mind.  Clean out those old, negative beliefs and behaviors that are sabotaging your efforts to improve your life.  That self sabotage is what’s holding you back.  Otherwise, you would put your mind to a task and learn how to do it and be successful.  Of course there are outside forces involved, but those are often nothing compared to the resistance that goes on inside your head.  And that leads to a question that I get asked all the time…

“When do I know that I’m done?”

Mostly I hear this when deciding how many sessions we’re going to do.  I always answer by saying how many core sessions I think will be necessary to return to a healthier state of mind.  From there you move into the next phase of putting it into action on a daily basis.

So what’s the answer to that question?  Of course it is…

 “You are never done.”

As long as you are alive you will encounter negative people, events and inner struggles.  That is a fact of life.  So get over thinking that taking positive steps forward for a few weeks of your life will be enough to always keep you free from doubt, worry and concern.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool to get you back on track, but then you need to stay positive, use your tools and focus your energies upon the new life you now create.  You might need to come in once every couple months for a tuneup.  Or you might be self motivated enough to stay on task a listen to your session CDs.  If you do come in on a more regular basis, we have the option of continuing with the counseling/hypnosis or we can do life coaching.  I have helped hundreds of clients over the last 17 years to constantly grow and improve using either of these two approaches.

Whatever you do, please don’t slide back into the old habits as if you were powerless to change them.  Use your hypnosis CDS.  Or come in for a session.  The point is that at various times in your life you will need someone to keep you accountable and on track.

I am available throughout the week in either Folsom or Sacramento and occasionally also open on the weekends in Folsom.

Super Moon

I’ve got good news and bad news for astronomy fans.  The bad news is that one of the year’s best meteor showers will be obscured by the full moon over this weekend.  The Eta Aquarid meteor shower is usually one of the year’s best and is composed of remnant dust left by the famous Halley’s comet.

The good news is that the moon will be full.  Not just full, but the largest it will appear all year.  Yes, you often hear people saying how much bigger the moon looks some evenings.  Well this weekend, that’s actually the case.

This May’s full Moon is a “super Moon,” as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons of 2012.  The scientific term for the phenomenon is “perigee moon.” Full Moons vary in size because of the oval shape of the Moon’s orbit. The Moon follows an elliptical path around Earth with one side (“perigee”) about 50,000 km closer than the other (“apogee”).  Full Moons that occur on the perigee side of the Moon’s orbit seem extra big and bright.

So enjoy the super moon and still keep an eye out for meteors.

Spring Cleaning Your Body

Spring Cleaning is also something you can do for your body. If the winter months of hibernation caused you to indulge in cookies, alcohol and candy filled with toxins that leave you feeling lethargic, then it’s time to consider a spring cleanse! Here’s some things to keep in mind.

  1. Clean out the junk. All the processed foods, sugars, alcohol and environmental toxins. Benefits include weight loss, more energy, bowel regularity, and improved body awareness.
  2. Since sugar and caffeine are addictive a detox is a way to lose your taste for toxic foods.  It’s also a way to remove the emotional attachments you may have developed with certain foods.
  3. Take out processed foods and you may see that your skin clears up, you sleep better, or you’re not bloated.
  4. Cure yourself, naturally. If you’ve been lethargic or have had trouble with digestion, allergies, infections, headaches, or depression, before running to the doctor, try nature first—try eating healhty.
  5. Remember that a detox involves a reduction in calories for several days, there might be side effects. You can feel weak, irritable, develop insomnia, have headaches, and have some digestive distress. And take it easy.
  6. Avoid going into starvation mode. Keep a daily journal of how you’re feeling day-by-day. This will be a good indicator of what foods you are reactive to and what foods are okay by the standards of your body. Listen closely. Your body has the ability to communicate some amazing things to you. So, if you’re ready to change the channel to more energy, clear skin, less headaches, and overall better living, try a detox.

There are many types of cleanses and detoxes on the market today.  I personally enjoy the benefits of a juice cleanse, although I have used others as well.

Happy spring cleansing!
